Seoul Man and Kaptain Kimchee
![]()
Yes, we're leaving on a jet plane.
Mike Cho and I got our tix and we're outta here at midnight on Sunday. We got a 13 hour layover in Seoul so Mike can get to know his real culture and I can eat as much kimchee as possible. We arrive in Hanoi at 11pm on the 24th. Gee, maybe we should try to book a hotel or something, huh Mike?
I'll be doing my best to update this blog with our photography and exploits. For christian guys like us you really can't expect much in the way of trouble. We might get busted for having a bible study in a communist country, or for wearing too-modest clothing at the beach.
As for the motorcycle driving in Vietnam, I found a few sites that had interesting advice like this:
"If you have no choice but to run over an animal (chicken, dog, even a pig) hit it straight on and try to get over it. Better them than you. There are no ambulances in Vietnam."
That whole combination of pigs and ambulances is a bit disconcerting. And I can't really see either Mike or I deliberately trying to hit a dog. So I guess it's homeopathic medicine for us!
